About Scott

Scott Richardson is a father of three, was born in Southern California and graduated from BYU with a degree in psychology and planned on becoming a marriage and family therapist. As an entrepreneur at heart, he found a passion for working with his hands and helping people with projects. From home inspection to general contracting, Scott is nearly always working on a handyman project or planning his next adventure. Currently, he is helping seniors as a reverse mortgage loan officer and is planning to develop a small resort in central Belize.

When his youngest, Mason, was graduating from high school, he approached Scott and asked for a list of basic skills he would be needing as he ventured out on his own. The worthy project quickly morphed into a manual to get out to others that was experiencing the similar dilemma and Mason was enlisted to come up with the illustrations to give life to a “how to” handbook. After two years of trying to get it ready for print, we are now ready to share it with you.

Meet Mason

The illustrator

Starting at a young age, Mason always aspired to be an artist. With constant practice and determination, Mason became more comfortable touching a pen to paper and being able to create anything in his mind.

Currently he is working part time jobs to save for their dream home, he lives with his girlfriend and their cat, Othello. Their plan is to continue to grow his artistic talents developing his career and live and work in Oregon. His sincere hope is to make a living off of illustration and commissions, and spend free time working on personal projects.

After the Macy illustrations were added to the handbook, he began working on designs for a childrens’ book and commissions including tattoos, digital works, physical works, and gifts.

Six years ago, this little Chiweenie was on the verge of dying in an animal shelter, weighing a svelte 2.5 lbs. when she was rescued and nursed back to health.  Adding a healthy 7 lbs., she has the sweetest disposition and seemed like the perfect candidate to bring the book to life.  Not wanting to lose herself in the spotlight of being a big-time celebrity, Macy took on a stage name for the publication of this book.  She is now known simply as “Macy the Dog”.
